Abstract:

This talk will be an update on developments in the field of neuropsychiatry. The talk will be focussed on the common problems that clinicians working in general adult psychiatry or old age psychiatry will likely be asked to consult on. The Open Top bus tour refers to city guide tours where the tourist can sit on a get a brief guide as to what is going on where and then return at a later date to explore at their leisure. In the talk I will go through key developments over the last decade and point the audience to where they can find clear overviews that they can refer to when they encounter a patient in their practice. Slides will be made available so that the reader can pursue areas of interest after the conference. the tour will consist of cognition, neurodegeneration inc key biomarkers, genes and genetic therapies, Parkinson's disease with reference to dementia, psychosis and impulse control disorders, autoimmune encephalitis,
multiple sclerosis, stroke and depression, and functional neurologic disorders, acquired brain injury and CTE, and epilepsy.
